Public Service as a Minister
Honourable Shri Prahlad Singh Patel Ji, through his extensive political and administrative experience, has always prioritized public service while working in various ministries and departments. His role and responsibilities have consistently remained focused on the aspirations of the people, transparency, and development.
1. Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Madhya Pradesh (Present)
- Promoted SIPRI software, which ensures planning and quality of rural infrastructure (roads, bridges, buildings) using GIS-based technology.
- Made special efforts to spread awareness and connect the public with environment and water conservation initiatives such as “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” “Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam,” and “Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan.”
- Strengthened employment opportunities under MGNREGA, encouraged Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and ensured digital transparency through the e-Panchayat Portal.
2. Minister of Labour, Madhya Pradesh (Present)
- Reforms in Labour Contract Licensing System – simplified and made the process more transparent, providing ease to both workers and employers.
- Permission for Women to Work Night Shifts – increased employment opportunities for women workers with proper safety provisions.
- Digital Empowerment of Sambal Yojana – ensured transparency and quick assistance to beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Innovation in e-Shram Portal and Worker Registration – remarkable efforts in connecting unorganized workers with government schemes.
- Expansion of Labour Welfare Board Schemes – extended social security and welfare benefits to construction workers and laborers in the unorganized sector.
3. Minister of Food Processing Industries, Government of India (2021–2023)
- Approved several Mega Food Parks and Cold Storage Projects under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana.
- Worked on linking farmers’ produce to Value Addition and Agro-Based Industries.
- Promoted foreign investment and encouraged start-up units in the food processing industry.
4. Minister of Tourism and Culture, Government of India (2019–2021)
- Promoted the Dekho Apna Desh campaign to strengthen India’s presence on the global tourism map.
- Advanced proposals for the conservation of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and inclusion of new sites.
- Introduced innovations such as Virtual Tourism, Digital Museums, and World Heritage Day celebrations during the COVID-19 period.
- Strengthened the National Culture Fund, bringing new energy to the preservation of cultural heritage.
5. Minister of State for Coal, Government of India (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government, 1999–2000)
- Took reformative measures to enhance coal production and supply.
- Worked towards reforms and transparency in the coal industry.
- Emphasized modernization of coal mines to ensure energy security.

- Implemented public campaign-based initiatives combining environment, culture, and rural development.
- Advanced self-reliance by connecting women and youth with employment, self-help groups, and skill development.
- Ensured transparency and accountability in the execution of schemes by adopting a public participation model.
