Prahlad Singh Patel was born on 28 June 1960 in Gotegaon Tehsil, Narsinghpur district of the Mahakaushal region of Madhya Pradesh, to Shri Mulam Singh Patel and Smt. Yashoda Bai, in a farming family. He completed his B.Sc. (course) from Adarsh Science College, Jabalpur, and pursued LL.B. and M.A. (Philosophy) from Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur.
Patel was known as a sharp and influential personality in student politics. As an active worker of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), he took on responsibilities and, at the young age of just 20 years, was elected President of the Robertson (Science) College Students’ Union in 1981.
Through his work in the fields of service, dedication, and community participation, he established a distinct and unique identity.
Born on June 28, 1960, in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh, Shri Patel completed his graduation and LLB from Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur. His journey in public life began early as a student leader, holding positions in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
With a political career spanning more than three decades, Shri Patel has been elected multiple times as a Member of Parliament and has served in various ministerial roles at both the Central and State levels.
Shri Patel has been a strong advocate for rural development, employment generation, cultural heritage, and environmental sustainability. He has initiated several welfare programs for villages, promoted skill development, and worked towards better infrastructure and employment opportunities in rural areas.
He is also known for his efforts in promoting Indian culture, vegetarianism, and environmental conservation. His spiritual commitment was reflected in his two successful Narmada Parikramas, covering hundreds of kilometers on foot to raise awareness about river and nature conservation.
